These are the three R’s at The Oxford Academy in Kuwait. We are proud to be accredited by Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel and Oxford AQA for IGCSE and A-levels, following the British National Curriculum from Early Years to Year 12.

At a time of raising standards in IGCSE and AS level, achieving the pass and higher grades is becoming more challenging. At the Oxford Academy we continue to believe that it is our role to lead by example and impart the necessary skills and attributes that will enable our students to achieve the qualifications they require to follow their chosen career path.

In the Summer of 2026, our students continued to achieve excellent results in spite of the challenging circumstances and the adapted portfiolio of evidence routes prescribed by the examination boards. This year we have enrolled a record number of Year 12 students to pursue their AS levels and 4 new A2 levels.

In today’s highly competitive and international Job market it is essential that students have developed a wide range of social and academic skills to succeed. These skills cover traditional values such as honesty, trust and respect as well as work-place skills such as organisational, entrepreneurial and team-based competencies. At Oxford Academy we target to develop these areas in all our students.

Realising potential is where the Oxford Academy provides the environment and good teaching practices that ensure that every child has the opportunity to achieve or exceed their personal and academic target grades in all of the subjects they study. Oxford is proud that year-on-year, our students continue to make more progress in the core and options subjects than any other comparable schools.

Learning respect is key to recognising that everyone has a vital role to play in the success of our school – from the youngest child in KG to the longest serving members of our Team. The behavioural code highlights and promotes to our students the value of understanding and respecting each other, which helps contribute greatly to a calm and organised learning environment where everybody’s contribution is valued.

Taking responsibility is where students take ownership for their actions and accountability for the outcomes. Oxford Students are taught in an environment that promotes and encourages them to become effective and happy members of the community. This is incorporated not only in everyday lessons but also the wider Academy pastoral curriculum. Students are given the opportunity to attend programmes aimed at encouraging them to be responsible for maintaining self-awareness and emotional resilience including after school clubs, trips and positions of responsibility that will become available during their educational journey through the Academy.

By working together, we are able to provide an outstanding educational experience for all our students. This collaboration supports each of them in their ambition to succeed at every stage of their education and the career that they choose to pursue.

Facilities

At Oxford Academy we have subject specific and general learning equipment across all three sections. These are being added to and improved Year on Year, as we drive to improve all the facilities and support equipment available to our teachers and leaners.

Foundation

In foundation we have a large play area with decorated supportive flooring for the student’s, this includes a synthetic grass area. This playground is furnished with a variety of Early Years specific play equipment for the students. All classrooms are fitted with an interactive projector to facilitate a multimedia approach to the students learning.

Primary

Each classroom is equipped with an interactive projector and a number of classes have now been equipped with 50-inch screens to offer the teachers and students the full range of learning media opportunities.

We have a brand new fully equipped ICT suite with 30 machines which students from Year 4 and above are timetabled in on a weekly basis. We have a fully resourced Art room for all Year groups and resourced Music room timetabled weekly for Years 2 to 5.

We have 4 designated PE areas including 2 basketball courts, a 5 aside football area and indoor air-conditioned gym. We also like to offer these facilities for after school clubs which includes Gymnastics, Basketball, Football, Roller-skating and Aerobics. We actively and successfully take part in a number of inter-schools tournaments for both boys and girls.

Secondary

The science department have 2 fully equipped Science laboratories, plus 3 additional teaching classrooms. We also have a brand new fully equipped ICT suite. With interactive learning being a big focus in the school all classrooms in Secondary are equipped with interactive screens or an interactive projector. These enable staff to bring the lesson content to life and make learning accessible for all ranges of ability.
The Secondary department has a large PE yard which allows a multitude of sport activities to be taught in large numbers or split to enable smaller groups to be taught simultaneously. We have also added an indoor gym facility which is also used for assemblies and events for the Secondary department.

The whole school is supported by ICT, Science Technicians and Support Staff to ensure that the technology is working and up to date.

We also have a fully stocked library which is available to all sections. This is constantly being updated as reading and reading comprehension is regarded as the foundation of learning for ALL sections and ALL subject areas.
